Hi my name is Valerie Haili, but you can call me Val. I am a proud Oahu native, and I’m excited to welcome you to my blog where I share the beauty and richness of life on this incredible island.

About Me:

I was born and raised right here on Oahu, and my deep connection to these islands runs through my veins. I’m a Believer of Jesus Christ, a wife to my awesome husband Keawe, a mommy to my five (yes, FIVE) beautiful kids, a recent stay-at-home mom, and a blogger in between. 

Why I started blogging?

Long story short, days after delivering my last child, I developed postpartum preeclampsia and had to be admitted to the hospital. I am so grateful for my doctor and his team had they not caught it in time. Going through that health scare it led to me spiraling down with health anxieties and depression. At the moment, I no longer experience depression as I did in that period of time nor do I have any major health problems, but don’t get me wrong, I still have a lot to overcome. Anyways, after that I knew I needed to find a way to be at home with my family and to find ways to help financially as well. and with lots and lots of research (like a ton), blogging was the main thing that kept coming back to me. And so now, here I am.
